New arrivals...

Another stellar week in the Bay is upon us, and driving through the countryside is that much better with the blossom’s really coming through now. We have seen the arrival of asparagus and avocado, which really help in making some amazing salads and dishes.

This week, On Your Plate has a new supplier of fresh handmade pasta. Danny’s Fresh Pasta is run by Danny and is made onsite at The Old Church premises. Danny uses traditional methods and local ingredients to make a supremely good pasta. It is awesome to have him on board. Danny also sells his pasta at the Hawkes Bay Farmers Market each weekend, and once you’ve tried it you just won’t be able to go back to the dried packet pasta again. You’ll also have the pleasure of supporting a great local producer.

On the OYP front, Christmas is looming, and I am happy to confirm we will be doing our Christmas box again this year, delivering on the 24th of December. The feedback we had on last years was awesome, and you will be sent an email flyer in the next two weeks, detailing exactly what’s in the box. There is a limited number of Christmas boxes available, so it’s essential to get your orders in quickly!

OYP is also launching a “Protein Booster Pack” in the next two weeks. This is designed to help those of you that find yourselves fighting over the last lamb chop or chicken leg, or have a hungry teenager that is constantly hungry. You will be sent an email on this also, outlining how it works, and how to sign up. It will be very simple, I assure you.

I hope you enjoy Kate’s recipes this week. My favourite is the Lamb Leg Steaks with a warm salad. It’s classic flavours that goes so well with tender NZ lamb.

Happy Eating,

- Paul
