Busy In The Bay!

I hope you are all having a great week! It’s been super busy around Hawke’s Bay in the last couple of weeks, with cruise ships in port, and Hastings hosting Horse Of the Year, the Bay has been booming! Lots of people I’ve spoken to this week are looking forward to having a nice quiet long weekend, with Easter upon us next weekend.

We are heading into what I call “hibernation season” which is generally between Easter and Labour Weekend in Hawke’s Bay. The nights are getting darker much quicker, and the temperature is definitely cooler at night. This brings me to the menu this week, and I am liking the look of it immensely. The Beef sausages and Te Mata Mushrooms is a flavour combination that I love, and the pairing of Hohepa Halloumi and tender New Zealand Lamb is always amazing. The beef and capsicum stew will have the crockpot simmering away in the kitchen, sending those beautiful aromas all through the house. Coming up next week, we have a firm favourite in the Pork Belly, making an appearance on the menu for the perfect Easter roast.

Have a great week leading up to Easter, and if you are travelling away for the weekend, have a safe trip. I hope you enjoy the menu this week.

Happy Eating

Paul
